Default Rebuilding/replacing XR3 engine on Panther Kallista

Hi,

Looking for advice on 1.6 CVH Build.

I am looking to replace my old XR3 engine in my Panther Kallista using a new 1.6 head and block that I have been offered.

My questions are; The new head that I have been offered has the Kidney shaped combustion chambers (is this a lean burn head?), rather then the fully round ones. Would I be able to use the pistons from my original engine with this new head?

Would there be any noticable power difference using this head over the original? assuming both heads are unmodified.

Any advice/suggestions gratefully received.

Gary

Kidney shaped combustion chambers is the earlier Hemi style head - pre '86 i believe ? fully round is a lean burn head, obviously post '86. i think i got that the right way round. lol
