Would be nice to see Mike drop all the bollocks about needing to be a road car and just go for a full on mental spec with his escort, or start with a shell like the focus, he has the patience, contacts and right attitude to development to build a really monster trackday car if he put his resources and money etc into it.
He can pedal too which is important in something like that, all be it with a much smoother and tamer style than AndyG of course!

i like his car as a road car and dont think making his car a track car is going to be the best way
the way to go would be start with a group a rally car and bung his engine in it,
thats where many people go wrong, they build a car spend 20k over what it would cost to do a grp a car then winge when its not as quick

Yeah a new shell makes most sense.
For the amount of trackdays he does, a dedicated car (and one with a cage for safety for that matter) would make a lot of sense I reckon

hi marco,
no mate, its still h pattern i know he would like sequential though
iirc its a ms92, i know there was a bit of confusion about this, because it had a different hand set on it !
it also used to be a 7speed but was coverted as 7 speed is soo much more easy to miss gears with
