Default cam shaft oil seal leak.....help

......plenumn side had a leak so i changed it......it leaked again......got another seal and this time the seal was greased on the inside and siliconed on the outside.........fuckers leaking again.....straight away.......seals arn't FORD but are what Matt Lewis supplies (cosworth i think)........why the fuck is it still leaking....help......cheers Pete

incorrectly torqed down maybe ?

pop to jackos , coat it in a layer of wellseal

the fucker wont leak again !!!

of the seal is not seating properly, maybe worth getting a blunt plastic prong & making sure the seal has not folded over on itself as it was fitted.

any other reasons then..???.....both sides been done twice and it's only the inlet side that leaks....

You sure it's the seal and not the gap between the cap/bearing housing and head ?
If there is enough of a wear ridge on the cam it will leak, that's why I use VITON seals, might be(are) £9 each but never leak and unlike ford ones are designed for heat and industrial use.

be sure to find exactly where its leaking from. my head had the non original cap on it and leaked from the cap/ seal interface and also from the cap / head interface as well, because a tiny bit of the the rubber off the the seal was shaved into that place. solution was to overbore the stud holes in the cap so it located perfectly on the seal outer diameter as the correct one would have done
