Moved in to our house around two years ago now. After sorting the inside, it was time to get the outside done. A few before and after pics

I mate whos just set up his own business did the gates. Well chuffed with them and only cost 400 notes, all though i get the feeling he regrets the price

Before we could get the drive tarmacked we had to remove the tree stump. Ended up having to get stump buster in

A mate said he would help rebuild the wall, but pulled out at the last minute. So me and my dad decided to tackle it. We've both never done any walling. At first we thought it looked ok, but after doing some dry stone walling I think it looks crap so it may have to come back down

Next up will be to get the concrete wall faced up with stone and get some railings up. Then get the garage done as you can see it's pretty knackered. On the plus point it has pit and is some 26 foot long. As our second babys due in 6 weeks
it'll have to wait

Ooh then get rid of the skip on the drive lol

love the house, love the surroundings and the view, but hate tarmac - you cant even jack anything up on tar especially in the summer - but that is just me, you may never ever jack anything up
but does look very nice though pal, every credit to you.

We really wanted to go with Indian stone. But the quotes we were getting were almost double that of tarmac. The one thing I wish I had done before we had the tarmac put down was some power cables down to have electric gates

Your getting ripped off mate! Im a builder and take these down a lot. You can get sacks from the local tip/council to put it in and they have a skip for it....foc! It is NOT the dangerous type of asbestos....

Better be safe than sorry! Yes, it's not dangerous but when you break it in half, that's a different story.
fuck the drive,,, your house is fucking lush mate,,,, fair play to you !!!!
infact shame about the drive as it spoils such a nice house IMO,,,,, i WISH i could wake up each morning to a veiw like that !!!!!

Only if you start to saw it, or grind it.
The stuff used on garage roofs is more dangerous in the fact while taking it down it could clonk you one on the head!
Now back on topic!
What a setting for a house

Please do. If I can get rid of it safely and safe 600 notes I don't mind. I had heard that you can take it to a council asbestos skip. but only a small bag at a time?
only about 10% white assy in the sheets,so not bad really unlees you break them,as Las said.
anyway, you have done very well with the drive.
sure i remember your post a good while back about tarmacing it lol.

Lee is right
the council dispose of this free of charge if its residential - i wouldnt hesitate in taking it down if i had a proper suit, mask and glasses
as long as your not grinding it or smashing it, you'll be OK

Lovely house, I think the tarmac is the best option considering your partner is a childminder. I could imagine a child falling on gravel would be alot messier than tarmac.
Overall, I'm very jealous, I'd love to eventually have a house like that, on a hill, overlooking a valley. Nice!

With issues like this on PF, i always say the same thing, its best to phone your local council! Its free to ask, and they will advise and point you in the right direction to the tip/tips that take the asbestos.!
