Default Sierra Cosworth 4x4 Display problem

Hi all,

wonder if anyone can help me, i have a problem (started 15mins ago) with the display of the car on the dashboard, the one that tells you to check brake lights doors ect ect..Fooker just stopped working!

I know its a trivial thing but its bugging the shit out of me, ive taken off the surround around it with the fuel light ect, but carnt seem to see how to take it out. Anyone had similar problems with theres could it be a fuse?

Any help or advice will be much appreciated

Mine stopped working too, turned out to be the plug that fits into the back of it, it had fallen out, have a check there

I will bet it's the connector that goes into the control module, it's located on the drivers side footwell, it's a silver box, the wire that goes to it that supplies power is black/yellow, this is where the problem will be I'm sure. You've probably inadvertantly knocked it when getting in/out the car and it's working again. The fuse that supplies power to this is number 22, BUT this also does most of the dash as well as the low fuel/washer level lights etc beside the clock... so it's unlikely to be that if they are working and the display is not. Obviously there is a possibility that the display is faulty but there are no moving parts and unlikely just to stop working all together. My bet is defo the connector that plugs into the module, look there if it dies again.

is this just for the door opening module, as mine is working but the fuel and washer lights do not light up on start?

There are two control modules for the warning lamps. The other is fitted to the bulkhead behind the dash on the passenger side. From the top of my head I’m not sure which module does what, but one module is for the door ajar and the other for the bulb check.

Thanks for that, the wiring connector was on the wrong way round.
