Default oil cooler

hi, has anyone got a oil cooler. just wondering how hard was it to fit and how. would you recomend useing one.

I would buy an oil temp gauge first and see if you actually need one. Overcooled oil will be just as bad as and over heated oil so see if you need one first. If you do discover you need to get one, get one with a built in thermostat so it will only start cooling the oil when it needs to.

Also, decide where you'll mount it and run the pipes before you commit.

It's not easy on an RST.

fitting an oil cooler anywhere (apart from around exhaust) is better than not having one at all.
always get one with a thermostat in the sandwich plate too as it'll only operate above 80 degrees, which is what you want.
place the cooler in the best place and get pipes made to fit, piece of cake.

Only really necessary if you're using it on track in my experience, bit of a ballache to find a good mounting place where it will get airflow but other than that not hard to actually fit!

cheers guys will be defo getting a oil temp gauge then first. which one should i get i have a ford racing boost gauge with a white face can you get them for the oil temp gauge thanks .

get an electric sender one, i've heard of quite a lot of ford racing ones failing internally and filling dash with oil.
