Default DIY Stage 1 Chipping on a 3 door

Lads

My mk2 escort resto is costing more than I thought, how viable is self chipping a standard 3 door?. I've seen the £45 ebay chips, have a stainless exhaust and a k&n, what else would I need apart from a good rolling road set up?

Am I wasting my time or can someone recommend somewhere to get it done?

Cheers

Mate you will need an actuator as well, better of getting on the phone to a tuner, for a chip, stay away from ebay chips, think msd at blackpool is your closest.are you still running l1 ecu in your 3dr

Bear in mind that if it goes lean or starts to det, it could be the most expensive bargain you ever buy.

Personally I would want to get a chip from a reputable dealer as there is some rubbish knocking around out there.

That said, there are also loads of pirate copies of good chips which work perfectly, so its not like it cant work out well.

If you do it, for god sake make sure someone checks it over with det cans and a wideband!

The ones I've seen are from a company called PTS
