just been browsing rs turbo's on ebay, and in less than 15mins I've noticed 3 cars from this forum, blue d reg, yellow s2 with white wheels and a mercyry grey on gotech

Are people loosing faith in our beloved money pits?

 

I think they might be..... times are hard for a lot of people, including myself!

 

i'm lucky I don't depend on mine, 2 other modern cars sat outside to jump in for worry free motoring

 

I've just bought a new set of leads, group a coil and a Newman cam and if mine still doesn't run right I'm thinking about getting shot.

 

sign of the times i think, i'm struggling to afford to put mine back on the road just glad i'm not in a position where i'd have to sell it

 

Mines on pistonheads - but only coz im looking for a track car and i dont think a cab is suitable!!! Otherwise im keeping it and keeping my eye out for a mk2 xr2 as always wanted to do a turbo one of these!

 

i'm considerin sellin mine i must admit, but dunno if i'd get what i'd want for it at this point! Dont have to or anything, but dont really use it enough

 

think most people in the same boat at min, but if you sell they just dont fetch the money any more

 

there not selling for the good money anymore because there's too many shitters out there

 

People still appreciate and pay the money for a good one though. I recently got offered a Leon Cupra R for my ERST......should have ripped his arm off

 

know how people feel i have often thought about gettin rid of the series one but just shut the garage door for a few weeks and then go back when i have more enthusiasim

 

When I feel down about mine I always roll it out of the barn and wash it Makes me feel better....theres only so many times you can wash a car though

 

there just expensive toys really,a pain but i supose they 4 the die hard enthusiast

As a couple have said it's not just the money.....have had mine 5 years now and thrown thousands at it over various builds/reincarnations but it does get to you after a while when they spend more time off the road than on lol, even when you're spending the money on them! I'm doing one last big spec build then it may have to go in the next year or so....trouble is you grow attached to them and unless good money was offered i just don't think i could get rid!!

 

I have more than once thought about breaking mine but when im driving it and its working right i love it

 

i thought about selling mine just coz I only bring it out on nice days, but when I do take it for a run, its so much fun, the merc will have to wait a bit longer, plus if the turbo cab wasn't in the garage god knows what would be in there

 

i've recently sold my project one, but i have too much on my plate to have it. 2 cossies and a project mark 3 meant it had to go.

 

Have got a red 89 s2, but am having to sell my white 87 s2 as cant afford to plough the money into it!!!

 

i just avent got the time to run mine in just been rebuild dun 270 miles init since rebuild. but if i get a good price ill let it go
