Default Advice needed please for F1 Silverstone...

Anyone been before? whats the best time to get there on race day to avoid queing /crowds etc but dont wanna get there too early. Only live hour n half away.

Race starts at 1pm I think.
Whats traffic like for getting out? I'm guessing its pretty mental.

Cheers.

GO EARLY,

seriously, i would be getting there as early as you can.. you will not avoid queing /crowds and road traffic is murder there, even with the stepds they have made to improve it.

do you have a parking pass for your vehicle?

go on a motorbike or fly in by helicoptor.

The roads are meant to be better now with all the improvements but they turn the A43 into a giant on way system so even if you live 30 mins away you may end up going a long way round to get in or out...

good luck and make sure you've got something in the car to read on the way out.....

was you general admission?

when i did monaco,

we came into monaco from nice at 10am, parked the car up, had lunch , and took our granstand seat
no more than 30mins in quees, althought the traffic in monaco was not good, it was not bad either

"Parking at the circuit on Sunday and Saturday is only permitted if you have the correct parking pass for your vehicle. Parking passes are only available to those who have purchased two or more tickets for the event, they are also subject to availability. Please note that owners of vehicles not displaying the correct passes will be subject to a fixed penalty. Please choose a Park & Ride, or call for details."

from the silverstone website, it might be worth asking where you park and ride from etc, as i done have a scooby.

And yeah packed lunch is a deffo, dont want to wait 30mins for a stale burger and pay £8

Circuit normally opens at 6 am, so unless you have reserved seats you need to be in the que by about 5:30
