Default My mates new Focus RS

Following on from the thread about my 23 year old mates new S3 (https://passionford.com/forum/genera...es-new-s3.html),
here is my other mate's (22 year old) new Focus RS. He picked it up monday and brought it up tonight to show me it. He had a 269bhp ST before it, he said its a TOTALLY different car, hes been chucking it about a fair bit and he says the back just follows & it handles so well.

Couldnt help but smile when he drove away cos he gave it a cheeky wee touch of the throttle and it sounds immense

Anyway, some pics:

I've seen the green in the Flesh and i didn't like it. Blue was nice but White really does the car Justice. I'm going for a White one next year but not a Brand New one as i can't justify 30k for a Focus. Next summer they'll be about 18k.

True they will be cheaper but I doubt Ł18k

Yeah, i think the RS will hold better value as its a limited run.

He had his ST from brand new, cost him Ł18,500, 3 years on, they offered him Ł7000 to trade it in

Most likely will be. Mainly because more people will be wanting the 340bhp AWD Audi S3. I don't think (As well as others) these will hold its value as much. Only reason the prices are so high on the Second Hand market is because of the waiting list and people just cashing in.

8000 being made but Ford have said they'll make more if they sell well.

Ive seen the green in person, personally I think it makes it look agressive and stand out, which is how it should be.

I think the green looks nice and it seems to be the rarer colour as all i've seen is white (which would be my 1st choice)

Not on about the old S3. The Upcoming version will have 340bhp, AWD and 5 Cylinder Turbo.

You obviously never read the first post OR the title of the thread cockchin. It's my MATES car. And he is a qualified Ford master tech. Not everyone has to borrow money off their parents. He works very hard for his car, so for you to come on and be a jealous prick probably brings a smile to his face, cos I know it does to me

Oh grow up dick, don't have a hissy fit, obviously ready to be on the defensive to support your little chum Don't take things so seriously, hence why I added the

And yes, like many people, I am very jealous. But also quite sensible, personaly I wouldn't spend that sort of cash on the new RS, plenty of better choice for that sort of moneyy. And like others, cars aren't my life, have more important things to spend on

I agree on everything you just said.

And your right 30K for a Ford??? My GF doesn't have a clue about cars but she knows that Ł30K and Ford don't go together. I would personally go for a E92 M3 as those have come down in price and you can get a nice low mile one for 30k.

Which is why i've decided not to go for a Ford for my next Motor

Having sold his in his fully paid off ST and using the cash as a deposit, the car cost him Ł13k, around the price of a good MK1 FRS. Id say hes pretty sensible

Yeah but the money he spent on the ST still went to Ford and he's now giving more money to Ford. Giving 30k+ to Ford is worse. He could have bought something a lot quicker and better looking.

So whats wrong with giving his money to Ford? I thought we were on this site for our Passion of Fords? Or has that all gone out the window now like AJC says?

IMHO, i think the RS is nicer than the new M3

For 30k he could have bought an immaculate R34 Skyline for example, a nice Porsche, something that holds its value much better and in the price range where age doesn't matter...their always going to be looked after well. I am a Ford buff and always will be, and would kick myself hard when I go to some other brand, but 30k for the new RS is just too much. Maybe 20k and it would be more than reasonable.

What do you drive anyway Paul?

It was actually a simple question, interested since its a public forum right? As for being a child, well I'm the one that can actually take jokes and criticism and not go all analy retentive about it

R34's are horrid things mate, the FRS is bang up to date with a 3yr warranty-true the Porkers look tempting but again it will be a dated costly car to run!
And the RS is an enthusiasts car wheras most Porsches are driven by poseurs!
