Question...... would you lie for your own son if you suspected that he'd done it?

Depends, what my son was like, who he killed, his attitude.

If he was a little gobshite who killed an innocent little boy and thought it was a good crack - I would dob him in.

What gets me is how kids end up in a situation where they are in gangs carrying guns in the first place. I don't think I'll ever understand.

Well judging by what they said when they got sent down they were acting like they had just won the lottery and not that they had just been sent down for murder or being accessories to murder. Seriously I just really don't get it. What are parents teaching their kids?

It will only get worse.

You have a generation where your more of a mug and more embarassed to work than to claim benefits and pull scams.

I know a few lads that have come from decent enough families but mix in circles where they can earn more in an afternoon than they could working all week.

They know that the police will struggle to get a conviction so have little fear of getting caught.

The more they get into it, the harder it is for them to lead a law obiding life, and the more they do the bigger the crimes and the more likely they will tangle with other people after what they have. As a result they are always watching their back and so are far more ready to carry weapons to defend themselves.

It will take a collection of strong handed tactics to shaoe things up, far less control from the human right brigade, stiffer sentences and stronger punishment for younger kids - they are being taught the law can do nothing to them under 18.

Make benefits harder to get, and those claiming job seekers should be made to do community work 9-5pm mon-Fri - don't turn up dont get paid.

Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will ever have people in power that are willing to take such a strong stand.

Not much, that scums mother sell herself.

Worked with a few people from that area of liverpool. Shame it all started off a silly drug deal went wrong and many years later a young lad got caught up in it.

Life should mean life, RIP Rhys
