hi all just wonderd if any 1 has any ideas on this i have a 2.9 twinturbo v6 with stage 3 heads just got her running again did my tappet adjustment course they sounded way out did that and there is no diffrence at all im coming to the conclusion i have some sort of knocking on the drivers side tappets but i cant see anything wrong and when rev'd up sounds ok its just on idle like tak tak tak tak any 1 got any ideas

sticking rocker?

 

how did you set the clearances?

 

could be a sticky rocker i did notice the no 2 moved when no 3 moved ill cheak for that thx you what its like when something like this happens you start thinking all kinds of things and sometimes miss the obvieous

 

i cheaked the clearences by feeler gauge ex of 0.40 and inlet of 0.35

 

The valve gear wear terribly on these engines, as you set the valves apply pressure upward on the rocker arm to take out all wear on the points between it and the follower/cam etc, not sure if you can do spinnys on these rocker shafts or not but that's a idea if you can.
