i wouldnt jump in to anything mate.its not like lettin to dogs breed, walla loads of cash.imo you need someone that doesnt work to look after them,be prepared for a heavy vet bill if anything happens to the bitch during pregnency and also be prepared to feed the pups by hand like mines had to be if the milk from the mother isnt right.think she had an infection just as they were bout born.if your serious i wish you the best of luck mate

gus,if im honest now is not the time to even think about it bud.too many dogs are being put in homes due to people not being able to afford them all of a sudden

lots of hassle to do it as well and you DO need some one there 24 7 to look after them.

as kc registered, that gets you more money but in all honesty its all bulsshit. the club a fucking swiz, all they do is swap papers around to give thier mates the right docs for their dogs to improve its background

What he said!

MOST breeders are struggling to sell their litters now, and many are culling the pups with even the slightest defects, such as a white whispy bit of hair on a chesnut dog, just as an excuse.

I was speaking to a Bullmastiff breeder last week, and she has had class winners at crufts, and eve she has decided not to have any litters this year due to the difficulty of selling them.

Shes gone from 5 show dogs, to 13. because they havent sold and she hasnt had the heart to kill them.

i have a Pomeranian and she is going to give birth to her third litter in about 3-4 weeks.

it depends on what your reasons for breading are.

This will be my dogs last litter. not because of any other reason apart from her being my pet and i dont want to abuse her for puppies, she is a full pedigree, KC registered etc, but instead of selling the pups on for £900+ like others do, i dont KC reg them and sell them on for £350, what it has cost me to keep and lookafter all of them.

be aware, that there is a big differance between pet quality dogs and breading quality... and if you have a pet bitch, i would not sujest breading her seriously as preganacy can be dangerous for dogs. its also very expencive if anything goes wrong.also you will have to put up with time wasters and people coming round and trying to knock you down on a puppy, its a puppy not a car.... you dont try and knock the price down....

If you want to breed do it because you love the breed of dog and not just to make money.

In a year or two i am going to take up breading chihuahua's.but i want to learn everything about the breed first and find the right dogs.
