Default Anyone use Windows 7 here?

Just wanting to know the general opinions from people who actually have/use it, and did you have any issues with installing sound cards/graphics cards etc or did it all install with no problems?

Cheers

Installed Windows 7 on my netbook, no issues what so ever. All drivers installed and operating as they should be.

Only has 1.5gb RAM in it too.

Try it as a virtual PC first to see what you think. Click for Virtual PC

from what i've heard everything seems to run ok with it, the only issues you may get is from websites playing streams or using flash.

official launch dates oct 7th so not long to wait till its out

Yeah not really sure if im going to get it yet or not as ive been having a google and apparently MS are going to take the piss with pricing their new OS? not sure how true that is but all the things that were shit and nobody liked in vista has been binned, and it will actually run on lower specced machines than vista ran on, so there all good things i guess.

Ive been using it at work on the domain for 6 months or so

The beta was good no issues at a'll 64bit version i was suprised at what legacy stuff would run to be honest but it's very quick and easy to find stuff

Ive recently installed the RC1 and ive had trouble with flash and internet explorer, it just wont start properly and i cant get flash player working - other than that it's as fast as lightning and both so far have not hung/blue screened once

They've got this one right

Try it on a virtual PC. Nothing lost, dont like it then delete it. Thats what I done before I installed it on the netbook.

you sure you actually did a burn on nero, its got to be right or it wont be made into a bootable disk.

Also did you burn on one of the slowest settings to insure you got a good disk copy?

And lastly if by not working you mean the pc isnt booting the disk and loading the setup screen, did you set the pc to boot from cd-drive first?

deffo did a burn but just a normal iso image using the files i extracted using winrar from the downloaded folder.
Nero only gives me one option and it is a slow speed-
yeah the pc won't boot from the dvd, my pc is set to read from the dvd drive first but it just hangs trying to read the disk until i eject then xp loads as normal
am gutted as i a really wanted to trial the 64bit version with the intention of buying it on release!

Theres something your not doing right somewhere then, or its a dodgy download? maybe ask on the site where you downloaded it from? or download another one and try.

Just download Windows 7 from the official site http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win.../download.aspx as it sounds like you have downloaded some version that isnt bootable for whatever reason.
