well today it happened. Redundancy. Bollocks.
They say there is an appeals process but none of the 16 people made redundant a few weeks back were successful, just a legality.
Anyone know of any Mechanical Design Engineer jobs going in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire or Bedfordshire?
Then today my little cat went back to the vet and had more expensive injections and a small op to drain an abscess leaving her pristine white coat looking like her throats been cut. She might need to go into vet hospital if she doesn't perk up tonight.

So all in all a really shitty day. Come on euro millions.
I apologise in advance if I'm grouchy or absent from these parts for a bit.

Cheers Cossiemodo,
Well I've done Optical / mechanical in the film post production sense, Mechanical design with food process eqpt, and just recently electro mechanical in vibration control for which i've just had the money-munch push from.
Mainly 3D CAD for mechanical as in Inventor, Solidworks, Pro-E etc. Just hope there's something out there in these troubled times.
Fingers crossed for little Sophie to pull through as well.

Tough times mate, sorry to hear that. Hope something turns up. My old man does CAD for a living and he says he's never been so busy. He does a lot of freelance work for a company that works out of Canary Wharf, have you thought about looking more towards London for some work? Bit of a bitch to commute obviously but might be worth a shot.

I hadn't Matt16v2 but if needs must etc. Got any contacts / leads / email addresses? PM me if you have them please.
Commuting isn't that much of an arse as I can be in Kings Cross in 50 mins from the station a mile away.

Little white puss Sophie has been eating well and drinking as well this last 2 days, so fingers crossed, she gets the green light at the vets tomorrow and not have to go into to 'animal hospital'.

Puss went back to the vets tonight. Her temperature is down from 40.1 back to normal 38.5, the wound is clearing up nicely she has re-hydrated and gained weight. No more vet visits.
