might sound stupid question but you never know the way the law is these days. i lost my photocard drivers licence the other day when i was out. Am i still ok to drive while i dont have it?
im sure i am ok to but i just wanna check that i dont get fucked by some stupid rule they might have. i got the paper licence but obviously any tom dick harry could show it and pretend to be me.

also was surprised to learn that my drivers licence number never changes even when lost thought that was weird as its one of the main forms of ID these days and it has my full address on too (as in for credit checks etc) thought it would change like your credit cards do etc.

 

Your drivers license number is actually made up from your date of birth, so won't change.
You are still licensed so continue driving, apply for a replacement right away, there will be no problem.
Plod can actually nick you if you don't have it in your possesion whilst driving, and insurance, mot, the 7 day producer is not a legal right, and the law is able to nick you on the spot as it is for everyone.

id report it as lost just in case someone does use it for dishonest acts. you can still drive no problem as youll reel off your details if you get stopped and they will match police database.

yeh i will ive also set up a thing with my bank that anytime someone does a credit thing/applying about me they call me to ask if its me. as i lost all my cards, ni card, etc. not impressed. first time i took a wallet out with me in years for that exact reason and it went walking in the cinema and no one handed it in had no cash in either few moths
