Really depends who you talk to on here IMO, so will say yes, some will say no, personally I say yes it's ok, took mine off again yesterday, sounds MILES better, but what you have to realise it that it could potentially shorten your turbos life as it is essentially forcing air back through it. I have already destoyed a turbo not long after doing this, and i am convinced it was a factor, although admittedly it wasn't a new turbo. I think the important thing is that you are aware of the "risks" and make the decision for yourself.

as much as it sounds better where do you think all the air is going when you shut off the throttle, your just weakening the life of the turbo, if you don't want a dump valve fit a re-circlutaing type then you can best of both world

pretty much as said, their there for a reason!! if u just want a bit of chatter or ur not fussed then as said fit a recirc one. Ive never run one as im a sucker for wastegate chatter but as said you can shorten the life of the turbo althou i never had one fail on me from it.

As said it will impose extra load on the turbo bearing, and so shorten life, so up to you.

ive Run my t34 for about 3 years with out a dump valve, havent had a single probelm, even went to the ring with out 1,

That said i am thinking bout re-fitting 1, whan you think the sound you love when you back off the throttle is the turbo blades stallin, cant b great

It's all relative, the easier time the turbo has the longer it will last, all else being equal, whether that's days months years no one yet knows.

I would not run a dump valve on a T34 or smaller and it does not matter on the boost either.

My Cosworth Sapphire 4x4 was laggy as hell between gear changes with a bailey dump valve. Took it off and blocked the hole up and the car was 100% nicer to drive- much, much less delay between changing gear and boost coming on as well as the nice chattering sound.

Mine chatters like I've never heard. I've not ever really been that worried about it until now.

Wish I hadn't sold the Tial BOV now.
