Default your all time favorite driver ?

mine is walter rohl, just incredible, it makes me smile just watching videos,

i really appreciate what it takes to drive a monster like he had to !

600hp on gravel with 16? inch wheels and tiny brakes !?!??!

i know what its like to drive 600hp on tarmac with big wheels and brakes, !! its hard work, just puts it, for me, into perspective how great a driver he was/is ?

AWSOME !!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbU4G...eature=related

i also really like dick johnson, proper cool fella, sat there where 550hp under his foot, got his shades on and kicking everyones ass

but still, walter, different league

well thats my fave, whos yours ?

Schumacher.. sorry lol.. love him or hate him,, there is no way he could of got away with cheating his way to 7 times world champ (as people suggest he did ).. in the most demanding sport in the world.

lap for lap he was almost always faster than everyone else there was on the track.

rallying, ANY of the group B guys really were heros for me! lol

Where do i start.
Rallying- Stig Blomquist, Hannu Mikola,Walter Rohl and the goddess Michelle Mouton.
But all time favourites are Ari Vatanen/Colin Mcrae driving god's best memory of Mcrae was sat waiting for him to come through on the rally GB first few car's come at us down the stage up the box to 5th quick lift over crest and a feather of the brakes before back on it down the stage next car comes down the stage and sound's like they are well on it up the box to 5th then up again to 6th no lift flat over the crest and away he goes just awesome car control and major commitment.
Im sure there is many more drivers i could list but i would be here all night.
Forgot about Marku Alen LEGEND.

Juha Kankkunen.
In the mid 80's when him and Markku Alen were in the Lancia's, Lombard RAC days when viewing wasnt restricted he was at the start line out of his car smoking a cigar and signing an autograph for some 10 year old kid,
The marshall tells him its time to go so he cooly stubs his cigar, puts it in his top pocket, gives the kid his cap from in the car and goes to work.
Made my week that

No chance of stuff like that happening now.

Hard to choose one but i'd say, in no particular order : Senna, Mansell, Mcrae, Sainz, Mikola, Blomquist, Clark, Stewart, Vatanen, Loeb, Makkinen. All highly skilled and entertaining in there particular discipline and in their own right.

In addition to these i used to love watching parrish and sheene tear it up in truck racing.

What about adding bikes into it?
Schwantz, Doohan, Walker, Bayliss, Rossi, RON Haslam, Foggy, Lampkin

on overall favourite, has to be McRae as he got me hooked on rallying.

BUT my favourite list of drivers include:
  • Vatanen (pikes peak fo-sure!)
  • Rossi (the way he can pedal ANYTHING)
  • Loeb (100 WRC starts, 50 WRC wins and 5 consecutive WRC championships says something)
  • Gronholm (Legendary the way he argued with the police on WRC GB)
  • Latvalla (a Legend in the making! 2 WRC wins and he is 22)
  • Vettel (just for winning in monza, beating the Ferrari's at their home!)
  • Schumacher (always thought outside the box in racing and was untouchable!)
there are some more, but i cant remember all of them... lol...

i am too young to remember Senna properly... or maybie i just was not as into racing as i am now...

Colin McRae, he's my boyhood hero.

However, i also loved Tommi Makinen and Carlos Sainz.

Always remember Tim Harvey in the touring cars too, he was exciting. As for F1 - Mika Hakkinen.

Yeah Tiff Nedell's a good choice, really talented. Remember the oolllld Top Gear where he drove the Ferrari F1 car? See the Top Gear recently where Richard Hammond try to do the same?? I know Tiff had a couple of F1 races and that was Hammonds first go, but it highlights just how hard it is to drive one of them and Tiff made it look piss easy!

Oh, that brings me nicely onto my other choice, The Stig!
