Default Fiesta RS 1800 Front Seats...

Would anyone be able to explain to me why I see different front seats in some RS 1800's ? In some I see what looks like the recaros out of the FRST, but in some I see ones that look like they come out of the xr2i 16v. Is it related to the year of production, am I looking at non genunie RS 1800's?

Front Seats Like FRST :

Front Seats Like XR2i 16v

Thanks.

Old thread, but that is a facelift car, unusual to find one on a J plate. You can tell it is a facelift by the mirrors, assuming they are original, though I thought all facelifts had a drivers airbag, so could be wrong. In all probability it has had the Recaro's swapped with a 1.8i XR2i.

IIRC RS1800's were pretty slow sellers. We had one with Recaro's on a K plate, but that was an early RS1800 that sat around for a long time before being registered.

I thought the only RS1800's with wing backs should have a swirly material, rather than the Fiesta Turbo velour fitted to early ones and 1.8 XR2's

there are 3 different styles of wing back seats , fiesta si has a retangle pattern , xr2i had small dotted lines running down the centre of the seats , and the rs1800 has the swirly lines called raven , the recaros are in the early reg cars , i had a j reg 1.8 16v xr2i that had spotted wing backs fitted
