I'm having a rite mare with insuring my dream car, a G plate saff
I'm 25 but as the saff is a 2nd car my 4years no claims dont count so the best price I can get is £2200!!!
I did have insurance for a belting 186 quid online but as I was about to pick the car up I had a phone call saying they had mis-quoted and were unfortunately unable to insure me on the vehicle
On my old impreza I used to just get insurance for a few days as I only get home once a month, but as the cossie is group 20 none of the temp cover companies are interested!
If anyone knows a good relatively cheap insurer or a temporary insurer PLEASE give me the number as I need to drive the car home on thursday night
Thanks in advance

Simple - Insure it as a 2.0L Sierra Ghia lol. Go on one of the insurance comparision sites and type in your reg. (Compare the market or money supermarket.com) Should come up as a Sierra saphire 2.0L Ghia. Has done on every cosworth reg I've ever typed in. When the pigs see you, they just think its a nipper in a sierra cosworth rep. The average cop going to be able to tell the difference between a genuine cossy anda really well done rep??... Don't think so.
There are a couple of downsides to it obviously... your car is stated as a cossy with the dvla, but this has never seemed to of mattered before. Obviously if you wipe out or crash, don't expect to be payed out much, you just have to hope whats left of your car is enough to make up the loss (which with a cosworth usually is,beings as they are worth more in parts anyway).
Of course i'm not stating that me or anyone I know has ever done this....
it is highly illegal and very cheap 2!

Go to the cossy database and see for yourself. Punch in aload of different registrations and have a look.
