I would not touch an unknown chip with a barge pole my friend, Go for a Bayoo Item it will cost you a few more pennies but in the end it is providing the map for your whole engine and if its a bad one then thats how your engine will run if its a good one like a bayoo chip then your car will run lovely.

agree with above comments mate,

don't touch cheap chips !!!

I've got a Power Engineering Stage 1 chip on ebay at the mo, but didn't look at pricing before posting so I've had no interest.

Anyway it's a good chip and only removed due to a new 330 hot off the press Paul Hills item. If your interested in the PE chip it's yours for Ł50 incl postage, drop me a pm if you are.

Paul

are bayjoo, PE chips remappable or a fixed map?

from what I gathered they were all remappable to suit the specific spec of ur engine, so how would an off the shelf chip guarantee good running?

dave,

not 100% sure about remapping, but a stage 1 chip is designed with a purpose i.e. to run a stage 1 set up !!! i.e. 1 bar boost ignition an fuelling to suit.

Most chips will probably allow the engine to over boost slightly say 18 psi, but if you want more power an upgrade to stage 2/3 would be a good idea.

Then live mapping and who knows what next !!!

cheers,

paul
