whats the best alternator to run on a 4x4 cossie engine? not in a 4x4 car and no auxilaries,
the car no electrics apart from the bare minimum, not even a headunit.
what alternaotr do i want and wheres best/cheapest place to get it from?


also is there any benifit buying a new 1 instead of just getting the old 1 rebuilt?

 

As you have no ancilleries, I assume you have this in a kit car/race car where weight is a issue, if you don't want the extra weight get a race type alt, very pricey £150 minimum but equally awsome, jap reliability, or just hunt around scrappies for smaller ones you can make fit.
