Found this on Detailing world and still on the original D40s!!!!!!! Just goes to show they are still hiding away out there!!!!

Owners preference mate , the cars came with both options , the owners fitted what they preferred , the other's IE fogs of grills were in a box in the boot when new .

I know of an alleged RS500 in Sunderland that has been in a garage in a back yard for years and years and has never seen daylight. The woman who owns it wont sell it, as far as I know people have offered her good money for it in the past, I dont think she has even been in the garage for about 10 years or longer but she just wont let it go. Im very tempted to go and ask about it, hopefully she hasnt had offers for a while and is feeling the credit crunch

my old man had the car magazine when they were new where ford tested the 500 v the tickford capri,there is a close up pic of the 500 showing the paint to be exactly like orange peel.
the first one i ever saw physically looked exactly like this.
