Default Rock hard brake pedal

My 2wd saff has one solid brake pedal, you can blow on the pedal and it will nose dive!

you can also hear the ABS making lots of noises like clicking, it pulls to the left under braking and sometimes the ABS light comes on

What can this be? the ABS unit it self or the discs?

I would look for a seized caliper on the opposite side to which it is pulling.

thanks for the replies

i dont think its a siezed caliper, although i will not rule that out. The ABS system is making a lot of noise even when not braking and idling etc

I re read your post, I would check the rings on the wheels to make sure they have nice distinct gpas between the segments, and are not covered with rust, maybe the abs is spassing out not being able to read/compare the speed of the wheel.

i had a similar problem where the pedal sometimes went rock hard and the brakes would either lock up ot not work at all and it turned out to be a faulty wheel speed sensor
