So at what point do you decide that running one pump is not enough for the power/spec of your engine? whats the advantage of running two 044 pumps? or is it just simply a reliability thing?

I have a single 044 on my new Evo at 575 bhp.

Not sure what the upper limit is yet. Wiring needs to be spot on as you want max volts at the pump to get the most out of it.

Big difference between 12v and 14.4v

Thanks Si ill be more than happy to get 500 hp from my cosworth engine in its current spec. so one 044 pump should be more than up for the job ( with a new fuel pump loom of course)

no worries ust know a fella who had over 600 bhp with no issues as i can remember a 044 pump produces 10 bar so plenty imo

i didnt think fuel pressure was relevant with pumps? only flow rate?

with a 044

on a yb, with 52psi fuel pressure the limit (i thought) was about 500hp

i didnt know wether upping the pressure/making the 044 work even harder if it can possibly work harder ?? would allow it to flow enough fuel for more power

tbh im not sure on this so i ask questions lol

The fuel pump brackets looks really well. Who does them or was it a one off?

they are interlinked. as pressure rises, the capacity to flow reduces.

if the pressure on your gauge starts to drop then flow will also drop, if it can never build up the pressure it def wont be able to flow enough..

you really need to ask yourself what pressure you running at(fuel rail) and what boost you are going to have which will increase rail pressure too

Maybe i could have given incorrect info saying 600bhp but this guy was'nt running big boost

seen a few 500bhp engines with ony the 1 pump so with 2 your going to be really safe

Text my mate and he only had 1 pump and ran 30 psi of boost

Paul
