Default Fiesta ST alternative

At the moment I have a Ka and a Puma, I use the Puma as my daily hack and the Ka for a bit of fun on the B roads. I have decided that I want one car that I can use for both and the ST would be ideal but what other alternatives are there to the ST.

I will have about 5K to play with plus the Ka that I could either sell or part ex to top up the funds.

What are folks recomendation for a warm/hot hatch?

Get a 306 gti 6 / rallye, i have a Xsi 2.0 16v with the gti6 gearbox and its near enough a gti6, they supprise so many people and they are so drivable, nock it down a few gears for a bit of fun or sit in 6th just to cruise along at anything from 30 to 130, keep with the Type R queers too

Civic Type R, 5k gets you a nice 2002 one with average miles and service history, just sold mine for 5k and my sisters is going up for sale at that price.

Pretty quick, great handling, mega reliable, reasonable running costs, wont break, great gear position and seats, still look good on the road.

Downsides, you do have to rev it to get the most out of it but then it is designed that way. That is about it, very few faults in comparison to other cars.

My misses owns a 2007 Fez ST and it maybe newer inside, but no match to the civic in terms of being an all round package.

Kims (look great in black)...

Mine, that I sold last week....

The CTR's? Actually crept up in the last three months mate, below 4700 and you are looking at moon milers or accident damage cars.

Took 4 days to sell mine, and have 4 or 5 people wanting to come and see Kims already only been up a day or two and on one site, not even on p/h yet!
