Default 1990 escort 1.4 help
m8 of mine got a 1990 ford escort 1.4cvh and he says hell b drivin along and the thing would just backfire and stop then 10mins after would work again any ideas?

Is it a mk4 escort?

If so sounds as though the ignition amplifier might be starting to play up or possibly the coil.

Quite common for the amplifiers to go.

If its a mk5,flywheel sensor.Had a couple pack in when warm.More H reg than any other too!!

well 1990 that would make it a mark 4, ive not seen the car personally yet he just rung me to ask if i new
