Default Engine problems...

Hi i have had 2 rs turbo engine blocks crack on me and was wondering what would cause this? Has anyone else had problems with blocks cracking? I have got another used block but am worried that it will happen again. Its getting expensive to keep replacing. The cracks are only hairline but enougth to keep blowing head gaskets.

Woah! I've not had this happen but the only cause I can think of is heat! But I would of thought the head would crack first?!

I have but to be fair the previous owner had bored the block out to 86mm so it didn't take much of a gasket failure to do that beteween the cylinders i'm suprised it has happened on a standard block

I think its cracking between the water ways if that means anything to you? A friend of mine does all the work on the car im not very mechanical. I will find out exactly where its cracking. One time is bad but twice is taking the p*ss.
