Default Anti-virus HELP! connect 2 pc's

I have a HP PC downstairs running Kasperski Anti-virus software. I also have a HP PC in my loft,

How can I connect my PC from upstairs to the PC downstairs to run the Anti-virus software through it?

I know I will physically have to take it downstairs, but how do I connect it and what do I have to do?

Also ones Vista and ones ME.

Thanks

Why not just install some AV onto the loft PC and run it there?

Because the AV on my PC downstairs is not compatable with ME.

Also if it works I can do my Dads laptop for him as well.

You must be able to do it somehow, like connect via USB and treat it as an external hard drive

Well, why not use an AV program that IS compatible with ME then?

Because Kasperski is good and I have a load of cable already so I will probably have all the 'bits' I need.

Seems such a bizarre thing to do, when it's so easy to install an AV scanner onto the machine and run it
