Default Selling a private number plate

I've got one on a car I'm stripping, i've just got the V5 in my name and want to sell it. Are there any company's that will buy it straight from me or do they just advertise it and take commission?

One company gave me an instant valuation of £600 but they will just advertise it at that price, not buy it.

you need to get it on retention 1st, the DVLA may want to see the car its on to do this, if they do you'll need to trailer the sheel or whats left to them 1st,

CUNTS ive been there before

Just had a look at the form for retention, they want £105 to put it on retention for a year. They must be taking the piss.

The car is in pieces, i'd be pissed if I had to pay £105 to put it on retention, then have the hassle and expense to take it to the DVLA to inspect it. Probably end up not making any money out of it.

Yes, the car definitely has to be Mot'd and it does cost you £105 to do it because I've just done it on the Cossie.

It doesn't need to be taxed and tested. As long as it's been sorned, it can be done for up 2 6 months and I think you've got a year after the MOT runs out.

As long as the car has been taxed within the last 12mths., you can apply. I have just sent off the form to get my plate off my mk2 escort, it has no engine or box at the mo, i'm sure you can get a rolling shell inspected though, as it's the shell that has the id.

T5 KLE

Not sure if it's going to be worth the hassle if they decide to inspect the car. If I apply and they want to inspect the car and I can't be bothered, they won't still charge will they?

whats yours worth?

A website said £600 to me but I don't know if thats right. Seen some similar ones for £300. Won't be worth the hassle and the £105 for a £300 number plate.

According to the DVLA website, it's worth £245. Not worth the hassle

Did reg sites offer to buy it or just sell it on your behalf? I've just been offered £500 return for mine and the company will advertise it for £699.

It's worth doing it for that price but i've seen similar cheaper. I'm wondering if T5 KLE means anything that i've not spotted.

I had a few company's offer to sell it for me for around the 500-700 mark so I thought it's worth putting on retention. I went to the DVLA office today, they checked all my paper work and told me it'd be about a week for me to get the retention certificate.

If they are going to check over my car, at which point do they tell you? I'm hoping i'm home and dry.
