Default lamba sensor in a cossie

can u use any type of sensor or does it have to be a certain type in particular, I'm getting a gauge fitted and just wanted to make sure I get the right sensor

fitting in a T34 63 housing

The gauge needs matching to teh sensor mate, not the car

Most gauges use a 0-1v universal lambda.

on the subject, there's four wires coming out my lambda sensor, 2 white, a grey and a black if i recall correctly!

How are there wired up again?

2 are for a heater (probably the 2 white ones), one is 0 - 1V signal (probably the grey one), and one is ground (probably black).

connect it up wrongly, and it's knackered, so if you value it at all you should stop being lazy and get the part number and search it out properly.

i've checked, and i was wrong. black is sensor output, and grey is ground.

lol thanks mate! you've been a help once again, just been outside getting mank with oil coz my oil feed is buggered, so i've been not so laxy

check my link mate, they sell universal ones cheaply. a 1 wire one will be good enough, although 2 may be slightly better. any more than 2 wires means it has a heater in to get up to working temperature quicker, but it's not really necessary when located in the turbine housing and not being used for closed loop control.
