Capri 2.8 Shaft Strength ?
Hello Chaps
Did a bit of a search but not really any joy so just wondering if there are any people in the know regarding what power the Capri 2.8 (LSD equiped) shafts can take ?
I see there are stronger items available from people like Quaife and a company called Fostek, anyone any experience of whats best to go for or have any further info that would be relevant ?
Needs to cope with around 450 bhp coupled to 265 sticky tyres and a lot of abuse. Any help advise would be appreciated

There are people running 400bhp cossie engined escorts with standard atlas axles and they seem to cope with the power fine, but this may be because they run 195 tyres, if your running 265 tyres might be a differant story, my old atlas had fosteks special uprated shafts and diff, and i launched it very hard loads of times with no probs, running 245 tyres
I've been talking with Tom @ fostek about mine as it needs a re-build and for what Ive got/want which is a "fast road car" with the occassional track or drift day the standard shafts will be fine. I'm running about 380bhp in mine.
Best to give Tom a ring at Fostek and speak to the horses mouth, he's a nice fella.
