To celebrate my 1000th post I thought I'd treat myself to an S1, I've always wanted one and now I have one!

What do you think?









Apologies about it being a little dirty, I only picked it up on Thursday night!

I'm going to change a few things like the side repeaters and filler cap, get it looking a bit more standard.

The spec. is as follows:

94k miles
Cat 1 Alarm/Immobilizer
12 Months MOT
No Tax

Engine rebuild 200 miles ago, still being run in.
Rebuild consisting of;
165/170bhp Chip
Recon bottom end
New pistons & rings
Valves & valve stem oil seals
Skimmed head
Uprated head
Polished and ported
New Tappets
Cometic Head Gaskets
Full Magnex exhaust from turbo
SFS silicone hoses
Uprated intercooler
Competition GFB Dump Valve
Bailey Header Tank & Oil seperater

Full Koni Adjustable Suspension
Cosworth Discs and Calipers

The interior is very good, could do with a good shampoo though. The dash is cracked in places and the steering wheel a little worn.

I think I got quite a good one for the money, although it is running like an old dog at the moment. Booked into Engine Advantages for a basic tune next Friday.

So does it look okay?

My plans are as follows: (Not in any order)

Get it set up and running well.

Replace side repeaters (Clear or Orange?)

Buy/Fit CD Player

Replace filler cap (Standard)

Maybe some new S1 Decals.

Front Indicators (Clear or Orange?)

New Towing Eye Cover

Standard Parcel Shelf

Wash/Hoover/Clean/Polish until my arms drop off!

Still looking for the Cosworth, if one comes along I'll get it, if not I'll still be having fun in the S1!!!

Thinking of taking it on the track next year, was going to use a FRST or XR2 but I'll see how quick this feels whens it's run in and set up properly.

Sorry I was out all yesterday, watching the mighty Colchester United beat Rushden 5 - 2 away from home.

We didn't quite get the glamour tie we wanted, instead we got Hull City, away!

By the way I paid Ł2300.

Agree on the mods: lose the tape, fuel cap (horrible!!), clear oval repeaters. Keep the indicators tho..they look smoked & look ok.

 

Yeah I hate that fuel cap. Hope it changes back straight forward enough.

Still can't decide between orange or clear for repeaters and indicators. Might get both and swap them when I feel like it!

Ca you still get genuine S1 centre caps from anywhere?

Was some on e-bay..around the Ł7 mark last time i saw them. Don't kno if they are still up, or finished tho..sorry.
I feel the sameas you on the indicators. Have got oranges fitted all round..but do like the clears.
Filler cap should be ok as long as the outer ring isn't drilled/screwed inot the bodywork Some people!!
