Default radiator clearance when fitting FMIC, S2

came to fit my front mount and rad back on at the weekend, and immediately found a problem

i never liked the fit before, as the 'cooler kind of favoured towards the passenger side, and a tad high off the crossmember

but now iv come to refit it, ive noticed the reason it favours the passenger side seems to be because the top pipe of the cooler seems to sit touching the top radiator pipe

its a radtec item if that helps, but essentially they look very similar to airtec

anybody had this issue? im kind of thinking im going to have to push the rad over as far as possible to the drivers side to give me side to side clearance, and as for height im also a bit stuffed as if i push the rad upwards, the extra bracket that holds it to the crossmember will also end up forcing the 'cooler upwards

simplest jobs become impossible when you become a complete bufty
