Default 3 Door water leak

The car was sitting outside for a few days in the rain this week and i noticed the footwell behind the passenger seat was soaked.

Hoovered it out with a wet vac and washed car and was soaked again.

Where is this likely to get getting into the car??

I would look at the obvious door seals, opening rear window seals, if no joy lift carpet and get someone with a hose on the outside while you look on the inside.

Does the 3 door only have front drains and none down at the back of the sunroof inside the roof like some other cars i have seen?

How do you get access to the rear ones as you cant see where they start in the roof?

Ill pour water into the sunroof drains and make sure they arent blocked is first thing to try i think

they are right at the back of the roof, you would have to take the lining out to get to them.

I havsnt has a proper look at it yet.

If the rear one is down beside the rear lighs in sure i could try and get an airline in it to blow dirt out.

WIll try and run water around it and look for it coming out of the pipes to determine which one if any is blocked.

But if one is blocked how is the water getting down into the foot well? How does it get from the sunroof drain to there?

The boot as far as i can tell is dry.

They drain out right up underneath the rear bumper, try openeing the sunroof and slowly pouring water from a jug along the "gutter" parts aand see if it drains out onto the ground.
Are you sure its not your heater matrix thats leaking?

Its only the floor is wet behind the passnger seat and no where else.

It only happened when it was in the rain and i hoovered it all out and was basically dry again and washed it and was soaked again

Its not loosing any water and i have done a couple hundred miles in it this weekend.

Almost certainly not the heater matrix then.
Could also try hoovering it all out and then pouring a couple of buckets of water all over the passenger door and rear quarter window taking care not to get any near the sunroof, if it gets wet inside then you'll know its not the sunroof causing the problem.

Hope so tho i dont see how the back window leaking would make water get into the footwell. Also it would be leaking all over the parcel shelf or down inside the window

Well if its the rear window he can sort it when he paints the boot again

Tho it hasnt been out in 6 months so im sure the sunroof drains could have got blocked or have been blocked and i never noticed before

sometimes the rear part of the sunroof sits a bit proud of the roof and water gets in here, it then drips down onto the sunblind part moves along a bit and drips down onto the floor.

Why not run a hose around the sunroof when closed and look for drips, its just a case of jiggling the handle to get the glass to sit lower forming a better seal.

Other option with drains is go to the outlet at the rear its a small rubber pipe just behind the side of the rear bumper if you look underneath and fire an airline up it to push any blockage back out, or even a bit of bendy plastic pipe pushed up it like 10mm central heating stuff

Must be the door or window then?
Might be a good idea to take off the rear door card and the trim along the bottom of the inner sill below where the door shuts against to see if you can see any water coming in whilst someone sprays a hose over the car.
