Nice, probably the best colour for an XR2i 16v, had one myself, yeah, try and put it back to standard if you can... will dig out a pic of mine if I can.

According to the DVLA it hasn't been taxed since March 2007 and the last time I saw it, it looked in a very sorry state.

cherrs craig will need the welding done like as young alan seems a bit unsure about it now lol

riped out the interior today after work....was shocked at the amount and condition of the welding that had already been done.its a mess to be honist so first thing first get a grinder and drill with the wire brush atachment and tidy it all up.

will need a new carpet as well as whoever done the welding in the first place didnt take the intereor out and bernt holes in it
so revised list

1.new battery
2.new sterring rack
3.new passenger wing mirror
4.welding.....2 new sills,5 small patches underneath plus hole on passenger arch and iner arch plus quater panel around filler cap.
5.full respray
6.replace parcel shelf
7. new carpet
8.full service
9.set of alloys

xr2john.....im sorted for parts as my misses`s sisters other half works in dingbro dundee but cherrs for the offer mate

what i do want to know is there anywhere i can get a acount for bits and pay it monthly??? and how to go about it???

any way heres sum pics i took earlyer befor it got dark(realy need to get a camara this phones shit)

That looks bad mate... all the best with the repair/reshell work when you get down to it. You'll feel AWESOME if you stick with it and get it looking the way you want it to and back to its best, but it's going to be quite a long road.

Cheers,
Grant

If he can weld himself it shouldn't cost that much, needs a new back panel, think I paid about Ł40 for mine. I would be looking for some new rear quarters too.

thats needin a fair bit of welding but its not beyond repair, i couldnt weld b4 i started my project and just got a 10 min crash course from my neighbour and off i went, seriously its not that hard at all to pick up,hav a look at the resto of my xr2 and you will see how much i had too do,stick with the shell you've got and once its finished it will be mint and you will get the satisfaction of doing it all yourself

i got a shot of a sealey mig with gas and it was shit
so i got a shot of my neighbours gasless clarke mig and that was much better, get yourself a couple of bits of sheet steel to practice welding on b4 you try anything on your car as if you just try too weld the car straight away you will just blow holes and a decent mask is a must so you can see what you r doing without going blind but give it a go and you will be surprised how easy it is,i wont pay any1 too weld ever again

if you need any advice just ask,i will help where i can,its just a case of getting the welder set right and you will be away

i agree with that,if your not goin to go to the hassle of changing the front panels and you need to do so much too the back of the car and floor and more than likely the sills aswell,it would be more practical to get another shell,if you just fill up all that bits and pieces it will need the whole lot done after 1 winter but your motor lad
will keep an eye out for a decent shell, they r out there
