Unhappy EEC4(small turbo) Turbo Damper

Does anyone know were to get a turbo damper for a small turbo engine. Going to fit a t4 turbo and would like to use a 2wd manifold, but can not find a damper.

from what I remember mike rainbird has this conversion and he (well not him cos he doesn't get his hands dirty!) welded on a 2wd mounting onto the side of the head then bolted in a normal damper, job jobbed.

you can either use dedicated spec R T4 one which bolts onto 2 of the cam cover screws or the baileys type one

None of them fit the later type cam cover and there is no bracket on the head to bolt to

there's been a bit of discussion about that cam cover being welded like that to support turbo, In my opinion its not safe....too much weight and weird potentially harmful vibrations could end up with oil all over turbo and engine fire.

Probably best to get an engineering firm to make you a bespoke one based on the bailey type design but to suit your cover.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hijack a great thread, but can anyone tell me where to source the carbon fibre infills and cambelt upper cover from as pictured on these engines?

Cheers,

Phil.
