Well , I have had my RS 500 for a few months now and it has just sat in the corner of the workshop looking very sexy with its new split rims on it , I have wondered what to do with it
1, bufty it to death
2, just clean it and leave it std
3, Stash it away for years
4, Go for big Bhp ..
Well """ I spoke to my mate today ( Neil @ carwise ) and he had offered to build me a very smooth and useable 400 to 450 Bhp engine , Full rebuild to his spec with all new gen bits ( + some little trick bits )
After a very long think ( 20 seconds ) i said YES
so its all go ,, the engine will be out tomorrow and off to Neils
All i have to do now is write the cheques ( bloody big ones aswell )
I will take piccys and keep ya posted

imho, i think its a waste doing this to such a good car.

Why not get a 3 door and make that 400-500 and keep the RS500 standard.

You can get the spoliers,bumpers etc...

It would be worth more in my opinion if kept as standard.

But, you have decided now so hope your happy with the conversion.

Paul your gonna do all those options anyway, just in this order............

1. 400/450bhp engine
2. Bufty it to death
3.Store it away for years
4.Then sell it

That poor Mk 2 will never get finished

 

I would leave it as a standard motor and build up another 3 door mate as when the original cars engine goes pop beyond repair the car is devalued! Mind you I can speak mine is sitting with a 425 conversion but I bought it like that!

mines power plant is the only thing left from the old saph and it took me the 330 mile round trip to and from bedford last weekend and a whole day of track abuse (2 tanks fo fuel )
