hi i sent my block to get rebored yesterday and they phonesd me up today to tell me that there is 3 cracks on the top of the block

caqn anyone help me in finding a new block please for my escort rs turbo series 2 is the s1 block and clutch the same????

any 1.6 or 1.3 block will do

 

blocks are the same dude

as far as im aware, the only differences between s1 and s2 is a different sized clutch (200mm on s1 and 220mm on s2) and then the crank is different on a s1 (slightly different oil pump design)

but all the bits are interchangeable so no worries there

 

1.3 blocks are different, they are about an inch shorter on the height!!!!!

 

How did you crack the block in 3 places????

the person who had the car before me must of tightened the head down to much because its cracked in 3 of the threade nut holes...
