Went out to lunch, parked the car on the high street, but its got them parking bays on the side where you park up and get a ticket. Anyway as there was no spaces I parked on the yellow chevron bit next to the ticket machine just as i usually do if there are no spaces.

went into post office - but had to come out inbetween as there was traffic warden standing there entering data into her handheld thingy. I legged it over there thinking fook and jumped in the car and drove off

Went to the end of the road turned around and parked up across the street within a proper marked bay this time, but still didnt bother putting a ticket on as i was only gonna be a min or two at the post office.

So finished what i was sending in the post office to find the same traffic warden standing there again

and this time she wouldnt let me go saying that i drove off before and this time i will have to take the ticket, otherwise it will get sent out via post. I was gonna argue but then she did say she let me off earlier as otherwise i would have 2 tickets

My missus got one yesterday for being 2 mins late back to the car!
The coont was standing there waiting, she could see him checking his watch as she got near the carpark, then he printed the ticket just as she got there

 

its shit now.. you used to be able to just drive off shout abuse and never get a ticket! now they can send them on by post to you!
there is however a reasonable chance you would get away with it.. as there is no actual proof that it was your car.. the person could of written the plate dont wrogn.. or the car could be cloned.. with out photo evidence you would have a reasonable chance of getting off.. however most people just pay the fine as its easier (and they were in the wrong! )

 

I've got off a couple of times as I always park in the loading place right outside where I go tanning. If there is a parking attendant I wait until they are facing the other way, then sprint out and tell them I was delivering heavy lamps to the discovery store round the corner suckers!

 

Rachels Dad got a ticket in Enfield parked outside a undertakers whilst sorting out his mothers funeral arrangements. He was parked in the undertakers customer bay

The people in the funeral directors were really cool about everything and said they would deal with the ticket as this was an ongoing problem they had been having.

After about a month Rachel's dad got a written apology from the ticket office. Dunno what the chap said to them but it must have worked

Oops R4N mate any money you have got 2 tickets...those inspectors are bastards these days. Parked in the "after 930am" section but my ticket showed 09:29.14...were they lenient?

Have u seen The Sun's campaign? 1 guy stopped, engine runnin, to ask a helpful warden for directions and got a ticket in the post 2 weeks later!!

oh and ya should have drove of as if they dont have ya tax details then they can prove you was there, what she ment by she let ya off is its down as a VDA (vehicle driven away) and they dont process em as with out tax details its not worth it as ya can get off and give them the costs
