Hi,

Been on the site for a while but never posted. Just bought an Escos a few days ago and so far so good. Been with jap cars last few years (Pulsar, Evo, and a 350BHP STI most recently) but always wanted a Cossie.

Had basically the spec i was after (leather, etc) and a more or less standard engine.

No real plans for the moment, just keep it tidy until the day comes when it needs a re-build, which im sure will come. Haha.

Heres some pics, if anyone knows anything about the car let me know (unless it's really bad) haha.

Very nice, it may not be as quick as the jap cars you've owned, but here is just something special about them!

Nice one mate just remember they are old cars with old technology.Just look after it.

 

Cheers for the comments, will try and get more pics in next couple of days. Had a lot of old stuff over the years aswell MK1, MK2 GTI Golfs etc. Prefer the older stuff as i can figure out what everything does! Haha

jap cars are just that, cars. big chunks of metal....that work!

RS fords are not the most reliable cars in the world. But you cant get rid of them. They have souls and personality. Which imo adds to the joy of ownership.

Just from beside dunfermline.

Been trying to get new pics over the last few days but everytime i do it starts to rain, or snow!

There was a bottom splitter on which wasn't for me so thats off and just has the standard one now. Also got a set of Azev's for it which need a refurb, but will try them on once they are done.

Also been on ebay for an intercooler and a few other bits and pieces.

Car will stay more or less as it is, but plans for a big power engine some time in the future.

 

I know the car,worked with the guy for years...i got offered it at the price he got for it trading it in,it will need a rebuild soon...even he advised me of that when he offered me it...not trying to burst your bubble mate

 

Aye thought it might do. Just with the miles and no previous rebuild. I kind of was hoping it would anyway as a fine excuse to build a good spec one! haha. Cheers for the info though.

 

Bit smokey on the over ride and pulling away? he suspected piston rings? couldnt belive he got rid of it,he had it for years and put alot of love and hours into it,how much did you pay for it mate? he offerd it to me for 9k but my insurance was 3.5k for it!

 

I traded in my impreza plus a couple of grand. He gave me what i was wanting for the car and i gave him what it was in for. Was trying to sell impreza private but was sick of people wasting my time!

Haven't really noticed it smoking to be honest but haven't been that sore on it yet! haha.

Yeah really solid, near to no rust and quite low miles. Just what i was after really. I got not too bad insurance Ł800 fully comp at 23, so happy enough.

Not doing too many miles in the car at the minute as i have a runabout and i work abroad half the year. Our weather doesnt help either!!!

 

It is a solid car,dont think its had any paint work either,he only EVER brought it out in dry conditions only,its definetly a good 1....

He traded her in for an evo 7...still cant belive he parted with her,it was really his pride and joy

Im only 19 so still a high insurance risk

take it u bought it from cairnyhill in dunfermline, had a look at that was a really nice car. did they still have those starlet gt turbos in there, some of them are shocking for the money.

 

They are terrible inside mate eh

 

Aye some things were pretty dear like, some of his stuff wasn't too bad though.

There were stickers under the bonnet, back window, inside and the sunstrip!
