Default Mongoose exhaust

Hi,

Ive got a mongoose stainless on my car 2.5" bore and 3" tail pipe. My mates have told me that it sounds like its blowing, ive had the exhaust on since feb and they have only told me recently I cant here it from inside the car, but they said that it def sounds like its blowing from outside

They work in a body repair shop and my car has been in once or twice just for minor things and they said that when it was in for undersealing recently they had a look and couldnt see anything wrong with it.

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to why it might sound like this? Or know of anything I could do or check?

Cheers
Andrew

I put a straight through janspeed on my mates saxo vtr the other week, sounds like it's blowing it's brains out on tickover but it's just detonation in the box that replaced the cat.

I spoke to my mates who work in the body shop and they said that they have already tried covering it up and it wasnt blowing

But they also said that it def sounds like it is blowing when just setting off or driving at slowing speeds. They said if im driving fast then it sounds like any other, but if slow then it sounds like its blowing

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

check your bolts on the turbo are all tight, because mongoose has no flexi in it, it rips the bolts out the turbo you wont hear it idling but will sound like a tractor when movin, put it under load when drivin and you should hear it loud when the revs pic up you cant hear it so much
done the same on mine only two options are gettin a flexi fitted or keep tightenin the bolts every couple of days.your choice

When you say getting a flexi fitted, does that mean a new exhaust or is there something extra that I can fit and keep the mongoose Sorry for sounding stupid, but i dont know a great deal

it involves cuttin a bit of the exhaust close to the downpipe and welding a bit of flexi in,i need to get one fitted to mine to when i get my tubular manifold, gettin it done at AVA in glasgow
other option is to get the front section off a magnex and combine both

tried that, my mate fell off and wont do it again, he said that he couldnt hear it leaking!!!!

Its got a lifetime guarantee and im sure that ive read someone that some people that havent been happy with the sound have taken them back. Only thing is its about a 2hour trip to where I got the exhaust and dont know if its worth it But it is p*****g me off that it doesnt sound right

It was put on in march brand new and Ive done nearly 3000 miles since I had it put on Do you think that it is worth ringing the place up and seeing what they have to say?

Cheers
