What a top weekend last weekend was

Big big big thanks goes out to my friend Simon, his brother & his dad for letting me tag along for the weekend. Was an absolutely brilliant time & definately want to go back again next year

Best part for me has got to be standing in Kielder Forest Tuesday morning all quiet & serene & then you can just hear the roar of something echoing off all the trees around looking round thinking where the fooking hell is that coming from then all of a sudden you see a mk1 & 2 escort come sliding rounding the corner at full bore. Was definitely an experience.

One of the funniest things of the whole weekend was hearing one of the mk2's with an Ice cream van jingle going all the time

We left on the Friday night and stopped over at some services in sheffield somewhere. Staying in a camper when the weather was like this was a tad fooking nippy but a cracking view first thing in the morning



From there we went on to see the scrutineering at the Don Valley stadium









Then we moved onto the one & only stage of the day











And a bit of fun during the day. Here's Si doing his best impression of a totum pole.



After the days events off we went to settle down in a pub some where for a few beers before cracking on the next day.

The sunday was the same stage re-run twice so off we went for a different view. Shame it was cold again and a bit of rain in the air altho makes for some good sliding.
















after that it was rushing off to a stage thatwe watched at night altho we saw this along the way which got us a bit nervous about being in the middle of the forest



I couldn't be asked to get a closer look at it but I think it was an effigy of Tony Blair & the fox hunting ban

Any way after a few bacon sarnies we was out and about again getting ready for the next stage

and then we moved onto another stage ready for the morning. After an early morning I was still tired & was fooked if I could get any pics. I was still dark & I weren't with it so only got this one




But did get one of the view just before we left. You've gotta have a view shot



Then it was onto service and to get a look at the cars a bit closer.













Then another stage around the service area which was tip top.











Then off they went to another stage while we stayed around the service area for a while waiting for them to come back

Then we moved onto Kielder Forest that night ready for the next morning.

This was the view in the morning walking down the stage. Was so quiet & peaceful well for a while anyway



Then these babies came stomping through there.



































Then it was on to croft circuit after this where there was someproper drifting going on

Unfortunately I need to download these pics so I will try & post them up either tonight or tomorrow.

Was definitely one of the best weekends I've had. I think in the end I got through 3 set of batteries in the bloody camera.
