Default Kuga 4WD?

Was just wondering, is the 4wd in the Kuga the same as the Haldex in the Volvos? And does it still only send power to the back wheels if the front losses traction?

Cheers!!!

And also, from some article or other;

An all-wheel drive prototype of the new Focus RS was built, as the idea was very much an option in the early stages of development. In fact the development hack used the system from the Kuga SUV and while they proved to be capable

Thats what i thought but my mate at uni has bought one and he was saying it was 4WD so i'm wondering if the 4WD is the same as the volvos and if it still has that stupid 95/5 torque split?

I hope Ford have tweaked the 4wd for better torque split.

Indeed a bit the same as Volvo, under normal circumstances the Kuga get's only 3% @ rear wheels. As soon it looses at the front, it regulates up to 50% front/rear
In holland @ first only diesel4x4 was available. Now also the petrol engine and the choice between 2wd/4wd

No probs lol

So say if someone decided they wanted to change the torque splits, how would one go about doing it? Would it need active diffs or what?

sorry for all the questions but i have been wondering how people work with 4wd lol i'm keen to learn.
