Default cooling fan idea.

right this might be daft but i am just about to fit my front mount and alloy rad to the s1.i have them butted up tight together with on ten inch blower fan on front of cooler.my turbo is going over the gearbox so got loads of room behind radiator.would it be daft to put a 10" suction fan on the back also?as in my mind it would help with drawing the cold air that is gettin pushed through??

Wouldn't you just be dragging through the hot air that the fans on the front are drawing?? Assuming the fans on the back are no more powerfull i can't see it making any difference imo.

A suction fan is 20% more efficient than a blower, so i'd try that on it's own first.

You can fit a suction fan instead, but not as well as. Unless you have enough area that the two dont block each other.

blower fan
intercooler/rad
.............suction fan

thats the sort of set up it would be like there if you take it as the blower bolted to one side of cooler and the suction fan on the opposite side.so in traffic the blower is blowing cool air through one side and the suction on the other side but not directly behind the other fan.if no ones tried it then we will never know
