Default who has a hayward and scott exhaust?

does it fit?

after paying the best part of a grand for a system, i must say that im not overly impressed with it. especially after leaving the car with them for a week.

been out today and managed to get it on right, but it was a right cunt.

they had welded on a braket to be bolted to the gearbox/middle hole of the starter motor. but as such, there was no fucking way of getting a bolt through the bracket and into the gb/starter.

i ended up having to take off the starter and drilling out the thread and using a nut and bolt to get it on, even then there wasnt enough room to get a spanner on the nut...

as for the screamer pipe, well yes it looks mint, just a shame i cant get full lock to the left as the front wheel touches it....

brilliant...

the turbo hangar however is all good and fits ok.

i also had pics of the car the day i droped it off to them, as i had just picked it up from pro alloy and taken it straight to H&S so took pics etc of the pro alloy stuff after unloading it there.

the car now has a fucking big scrape down the door where it looks like they have opened it into the ramp, and the boot also has a big bit of paint missing... yet ian denied all of this when i phoned them up about it, even tho i have pics....

this was about this time last year tho, so not a lot can be done about it now.

rant over

those scrapes down the door and on the boot are shockin..

as for the fit.. hmm,. yeah they might of done you a slight favour as it was for a magazine job.. but 1k is still a load of wedge for a scraped up car and an MOT failure due to steering restrictions

Fudge should come down here to JKM they do a fantastic service!

Best of all though my exhaust is 85db static and the finish quality looks far better than any H+S exhaust ive seen.

Having seen a few H&S systems up close the workman ship seems to be hit and miss. Some times the welding and fit is very good, then i have seen an average system down to one i thought was totally shocking.

mikes rainbums, justin from ireland, steve from ireland, tony from ireland, the old mans car all have h+s systems,

only problem really was when they did the twin side exits, they did the ends a little small, other wise theyre work is a peice of art !!

only other problem was getting the twin 2 1/2" pipes past the body, prop, and anti roll bar, but got over that small problem easy enough

I would use Nick Paravani, makes H&S look like schoolkids, but does cost more, also does them in Titanium if wanted.
He won't accept payment until customer is happy and goes out in car with customer, every system without exception done on car it is for, keeps no jigs, will only do on car fit.

A good friend's business is racing cars, building them and running them for customers. They developed a new roadcar and looked at Hayward & Scott exhausts for those, and they came quickly to the conclusion they are cheap crap (I think they are manufactured in China).

Saying that, my Subaru has one and its ok, too loud really but I'm not going to spend any money to replace it just because of that!

My car has just had a very tight fitting downpipe and boost pipe job done there!

Very expensive but the fit is first class!

Perhaps you are having problems getting it to sit correctly assuming you are using the vband type clamps?

The classic case of a company who 'can' produce top quality work but don't seem to for all their customers, tis a shame but we've all had this sort of thing happen over the years sadly.

Hi Ian from Hayward and Scott i,m not going to get in to any discusstion on the Forum but if any one has any problem with our exhausts then please ring.01268 727256

If we scratch a car we pay it is as simple as that.I do not have any knowledge of being made aware of damage to the car.

We make our exhaust in the workshop in the UK by hand. How can we get them made in china ...... take the car out there as we make ONE OFF exhausts.

Hi Ian, i did indeed phone and speak to you about the scratches, and you did say that if you had done it, you would own up etc. well i have pics off when we unloaded the car at your place minus scratches (well to the boot, cant find the pic of the door.)

anyway, i guessed as i cant prove anything id let it drop.

as for the exhaust system, i have said that is made very well, but the mount to bolt it to the gearbox just simlpy wont fit how it should, but i have rectified this by drilling out the starter motor threads and using a bolt straight through with a nut.

as for the screamer pipe, i cant get full lock to the left as the wheel hits it, which to be honest i thought someone may have noticed?

failing those 2 issues, i am very pleased with the rest and the turbo hangar as i said is very well made and fits perfect.

Dan

Ian did my system a few months back, and I am more than impressed with the quality and attention to detail on the system.

Asked for the system to be under 98db and came out at 96db

Had it on and off on several occasions with no problems.
Top notch work and perfect fit

I can't honestly remember about the paint but as it was over a year ago, we bend over back to help people and make sure that they are happy because of our reputation that we have built up over the years. It is very hard to maintain what with all the rubbish that is coming from abroad and being sold so cheap. If you had a problem about the steering / screamer pipe then you should have told us and let us put it right , if we hadn't then fair enough go and moan about us but please give us a chance first.

Ian

its a small problem, it is hard to get twin 2 1/2" pipes through past the prop, arb and body so a spacer just gave it that little more room, easy fix, nothin to moan about
