i have a old n reg mondeo 4x4.its metalic blue with lacquer,
the paint work is in very poor condition,and iam struggling to get it clean.
i have tried clay,but it never seems to get the paint work smooth. tried t cut,and it does work,but very hard work.
i think the lacquer is very ingrained with dirt and scratches.
as iam lazy,what can i do to get it looking clean easy.

 

What clay are you using as am part way through a Audi at the minute and that was the same, tried mild clay and it didn't lift a thing so used Megs Aggressive Clay and now its like glass.

With the aggressive you will need to polish after as the clay will leave its own marring marks on the clearcoat

This is after a small patch of the bonnet



Took 4hrs do do the whole car with 2 of us on it, worse one i have done yet with regards to claying

 

cheers mate, i didnt know you could get different grades of clay.
i used plan 23 d on the boot today. medium grade buffing sponge,hand held. t cut. and a bottle of water,with fine mist sprayer.keeping the sponge wet,i managed to get a lot of the shit off the paint work.then i used the clay,(white colour).came up ok, without too much effort.
