hi guys....need HELP?
ive just bought an escort finesse V reg body sus etc in mint condition
4days after buying the car the cambelt went and took all 16 valves just got it bck and was thinkin what cheap mods will get me over the 105bhpo mark.
its 1.6 16v would escort 1.8(115bhp) parts be by that i mean:
ecu and maybe loom, injectors,M.A.F sensor,throttle body,with s/s sprots decatted exhaust(4-2-1manifold) and a good induction kit. then take this to a rolling road and get it setup OR..
is this just a waste of time and i should be thinking mondeo2.0ltr or escort GTI full engine box and loom etc??? any help would be much appriciated thanks...

 

just buy a rotten rs2000 for cheap money and fit the lot into yours 150bhp out the box then abuse it job done

 

I wouldn't call the mods your thinking about 'cheap'. By the time you've got everything fitted and set up you'll probably spend the same amount as buying a mk5 RS2000 in the first place.

 

Id go straight for a 2 litre zetec get that in and running then think about mods to that your floging a dead horse with the 1.6 at least if later down the line you fancy abit more power you could always bolt a turbo on
