the XR4i style spoiler is from a rattlesnake bodykit, genuine spoiler from dagneham RS dealer.
if im correct?
It was An XR3i 1.9 CVH called RS1900i. famous bodykit in the early 90's.

the spoiler youre talking about, roof/bootlid one i remember seeing it on ebay a while back, there was a company that makes them for various cars and you could get a 3rd brake light fitted in some too. this wasn't fibreglass either.

got any links to the ebay one? I'm struggling to find any info on the genuine ones.

I remember the XR1900i, that was "interesting" to say the least

didn't click that was where the spoiler on the above car was from. Rattlesnake bodykit IIRC

The car you mention was a dealer special, not a recognised Ford model the bodykit was made and supplied by Fibresports and not a genuine RS spoiler.

the spoiler was only ever made by Fibresport then?

i thought they were replicas of genuine Ford ones.

Fibresport is the place i was looking at for one, unless someone can find any plastic ones on Ebay.

it has the brake light which i wasn't wanting but if it goes cheap then i'll go for it.

I would say they are more undesirable than rare, they retain water around the top of your tailgate and promote rusting as such once people realise this they do not fit another one.
You can still buy them from MC Rallying for £89 new and firbresports also sell a version of the high level spoiler with or without brake lights.

tbh I'll give it a try, fit and seal as best i can, if it causes rusting then i'll take it off and learn a lesson from it.

The first one i was looking at was from Fibresport, without the brake light. If this one goes cheap enough then i'll go for it and see about keeping or smoothing out the brake light when it arrives

cheers for the advice Re. rusting mate
