there was a similar thing round my way, a sooty van with a fireblade engine in it. made alot of sound and went well, would catch a few people out, until he dropped it and it screamed anyhoo... not blisteringly fast though...

 

That's it put a body on the back and leave it de-stickered

I think that's forward planning, for when petrol actually does cost more than whisky, probably not long

 

This was built by my father in law Tom (pond autos), goes well in a striaght line just not great at cornering! He recently put an R1 engine in a smart using cosworth bits and pieces to make it rear wheel drive without using the bike chain, he sold it before I got a go in that though!

 

Not very practical is it!
